Ogosta Dam and the dam wall

The Ogosta Dam is the second largest dam in Bulgaria and on the Balkans. The dam is located 600m southwest of the town and only 50m from the hotel. Close to the hotel is the huge dam wall, where you can walk and enjoy the wonderful panoramic view of the dam and the Balkan Mountains.

Castra ad Montanesium
Castra ad Montanesium

Castra ad Montanesium is an ancient Roman fortress located 2 km from the hotel, on the hill of Caleto, preserved as a monument of ancient history. The settlement dates back to prehistoric times. Its first inhabitants lived in the Stone-Copper Age. In a later period, the settlement was inhabited by the Thracian tribe of Tribals, who built a fortress for protection against attackers. During the Roman Empire, roads were built and maintained to connect Montana with the rest of the empire, and the town flourished as a result.
The town and fortress were destroyed in the 6th century by the Avars and Slavs. Today, the fortress has free access and has been partially restored

Belogradchik Rocks
