MONTANA
Montana is a beautiful town located 100 km north of Sofia, next to Ogosta River and Balkan Mountains.

The Ogosta Dam is the second largest dam in Bulgaria and on the Balkans. The dam is located 600m southwest of the town and only 50m from the hotel. Close to the hotel is the huge dam wall, where you can walk and enjoy the wonderful panoramic view of the dam and the Balkan Mountains.
Castra ad Montanesium is an ancient Roman fortress located 2 km from the hotel, on the hill of Caleto, preserved as a monument of ancient history. The settlement dates back to prehistoric times. Its first inhabitants lived in the Stone-Copper Age. In a later period, the settlement was inhabited by the Thracian tribe of Tribals, who built a fortress for protection against attackers. During the Roman Empire, roads were built and maintained to connect Montana with the rest of the empire, and the town flourished as a result.
The town and fortress were destroyed in the 6th century by the Avars and Slavs. Today, the fortress has free access and has been partially restored
The Belogradchik Rocks are a naturally formed sandy rock complex consisting of formations extremely diverse in size and shape. Some of the formations are higher than 100 meters. This natural phenomenon is of global geological significance, nominated by UNESCO as "The New 7 Wonders of Nature". During the summer months you can enjoy live opera performances under the stars. The Magura Cave is believed to be over 15 million years old with a year-round constant temperature of 12C. The cave has murals dating back to the Palaeolithic, Neolithic and Bronze Age. The cave is 85 km from the hotel.
Ledenika is a majestic cave in the northwestern parts of the Balkan Mountains, near the town of Vratsa. The cave is about 300m long and consists of ten separate halls, in which there are plenty of galleries and impressive karst formations. The cave is located 56 km from the hotel.
Klisura Monastery "St. Cyril and Methodius" dates back to the 13th century and is located at the foot of the Balkan Mountains near the town of Varshets. There you can enjoy magnificent architecture, meet monks and taste fresh local produce.
The picturesque Lopushna Monastery of St. John the Baptist is a great destination for a day trip. It is located only 20.6 km from the hotel.
Baba Vida Fortress dates back to the 12th century and is located on the banks of the Danube in the town of Vidin. Nowadays the fortress functions as a museum and is located 105 km away.
